The Cowichan Capitals have announced the signing of defenceman Ludovik Gauvin for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
A native of Québec City, Gauvin joins the Capitals after spending the 2025-26 season with the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks of the NAHL, where he was originally selected 131st overall in the 2025 NAHL Entry Draft. The right-shot defenceman led all Danbury blueliners in scoring, recording 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 50 games and added four assists in five playoff games.
Prior to his time in Danbury, Gauvin spent two seasons with both the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack 18U AAA program and Trinity-Pawling School (USHS-Prep). There, he registered 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists) in 42 games over two seasons. He also enjoyed considerable offensive success at Trinity-Pawling, producing 46 points (eight goals, 38 assists) in 49 games while operating at nearly a point-per-game pace from the back end.
“Ludovik can hurt you a million different ways offensively,” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Cam Keith. “His ability to pivot, transition and change directions without losing speed is elite. He has the ability to create offence in a variety of ways, and we are excited to welcome him to Cowichan.”
The Capitals would like to welcome Ludovik and his family to the organization.
