Duncan, BC – The Cowichan Capitals made their first move of the 2026 off-season on June 1, acquiring forward Nate Crema from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for forwards Brendyn Van Oene and Avery Johnson.
A product of North Vancouver, BC, Crema has spent all three of his BCHL seasons with the Express. Over 144 regular-season games, he has accumulated 78 points (36 goals, 42 assists), adding nine points (three goals, six assists) in 18 playoff contests. In 2025–26, he ranked third in team scoring with 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 54 games.
“Nate is an offensive driver who plays on the inside, utilizing his athleticism to cut through traffic,” said Head Coach and General Manager Cam Keith. ” We need to improve on our overall team speed and tenacity for the playoffs. Nate is a rare player who brings both elements along with three years of playoff experience and leadership qualities.”
Now entering his fourth BCHL season, Crema is expected to take on a prominent role for the Capitals in 2026–27 as the club looks to build on a competitive 2025–26 campaign.
