Cowichan Capitals and South Island Serpents Announce New Development Partnership

DUNCAN, B.C. – The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce a new partnership with the South Island Serpents that will bring the organizations together to strengthen and expand player development opportunities across Vancouver Island.

Beginning immediately, the South Island Serpents will become part of the Cowichan Capitals’ player development pathway. The Serpents program will continue to operate its successful spring teams, camps, and development initiatives while benefiting from enhanced coaching resources, expanded programming, and increased collaboration with the Capitals organization.

The South Island Serpents have become a respected name in spring hockey throughout British Columbia, offering competitive teams, development camps, and opportunities for players of all ages to continue their growth outside the traditional minor hockey season.

Under the new partnership, the Serpents will maintain the programs that have made them successful while becoming more closely aligned with the Capitals organization and its commitment to player development. The partnership will provide enhanced coaching opportunities, guest instructors, and a more clearly defined pathway for players looking to maximize their potential both on and off the ice. The Capitals and Serpents will offer a variety of programs throughout the year, including spring teams, development camps, skills sessions, and age-specific opportunities designed to meet players where they are in their hockey journey.

The organizations are excited about what this partnership means for the future of hockey development on Vancouver Island and look forward to welcoming players and families into the next chapter of the program.
