
Capital Serpents
The South Island Serpents are now part of the Cowichan Capitals junior development pathway, creating expanded opportunities for young players throughout Vancouver Island.
The Capital Serpents program will continue to offer high-quality spring and development programming while benefiting from enhanced coaching opportunities, guest instructors, and a stronger connection to the Cowichan Capitals organization.
Program Pathways
Spring Teams
Competitive spring teams for players born from 2011 to 2019, along with development opportunities for younger age groups.
Teams will be based out of Duncan, Fuller Lake, Shawnigan Lake, and Lake Cowichan, with the spring season running from late March into early-to-mid June.
Summer Camps
Season prep, skills, and small-area games camps designed to help players sharpen their individual skills, compete in small-area situations, and prepare for the upcoming hockey season.
Summer programming includes age-specific groups from U7 through U15, with sessions held at the Cowichan Community Centre.
Spring Season Information
The 2027 spring season is expected to begin at the end of March and run into early-to-mid June, depending on tournament selection. Teams will be formed across multiple birth years, with the goal of providing strong development, competitive play, and quality coaching throughout the program.
- Teams planned for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 birth years
- Potential 2019/20 development team
- Potential 2020/21/22 development group
- Teams may be classified as AAA or AA depending on tournament strength
- Spring programming based out of Duncan, Fuller Lake, Shawnigan Lake, and Lake Cowichan
- Guest development coaches included throughout the program

Summer Camp Information
Capital Serpents summer programming focuses on season preparation, individual and pair skills, passing, tactics, and a strong emphasis on small-area games.
