TRADE: Capitals acquire 19 year old forward Ethan Anstey from Fort McMurray

The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the acquisition of 19 year old forward Ethan Anstey from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, in exchange for future considerations. Anstey, from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories spent last year with the Oil Barons in the shortened AJHL season, playing in 9 games and scoring 1 goal and 3 points. Prior to his rookie junior season, Anstey played at Shawnigan Lake School for the previous 4 years. In 2019/20 Anstey finished 4th on the team in scoring with 12 goals and 38 points in 36 games.

“Ethan is a hard working player with good speed and tenacity. He is reliable and an aggressive player. Overall Ethan will help our checking line depth and be able to contribute offensively. Ethan brings energy, great character and enthusiasm to our team” said Capitals Head Coach & General Manager Brian Passmore.
