Caps This Week

After a long break in the schedule, the Caps are preparing for a big 3 game weekend. After a disappointing loss at home to Coquitlam last Wednesday, the boys are looking to regroup and regain some momentum in the playoff race. The Caps are currently on the outside looking in, trailing both Coquitlam and Powell River by a single point. Coquitlam currently has a game in hand, while the Caps and Kings have played the same amount of games.

Friday night the Caps head down the Malahat to battle the Grizzlies. The Grizz have had the Caps number this season, but the boys in blue will be looking to change that. Last meeting saw the Grizzlies sneak out an overtime victory off the stick of Matthew Wood. Puck drop is set for 7pm at the Q Centre.

Saturday evening & Sunday afternoon the Caps play host to the Powell River Kings. As mentioned above, the Kings & Caps are in a battle for the final playoff spot. 4 very important points are on the line, and both games will be ones you won’t want to miss.

The Capitals are hosting a Mental Health Awareness night on Saturday in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association Cowichan Valley Branch. We will be recognizing the mental health professionals that are on the front lines and making a difference here in the valley every day. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with these professionals and learn more about the work that they’re doing, as well as donate to help their initiatives. We’re also proud to announce that all participants & volunteers in the CMHA’s Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser will be given free admission to the game!

Tickets are still available. We’ll see you this weekend!
