Massimo Lombardi commits to University of Vermont!

The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce that 20 year old forward Massimo Lombardi has committed to the University of Vermont starting in the 2023/24 season! Lombardi, in his second season with the Capitals after joining the team from the Salisbury School Prep Program. Lombardi from Beaconsfield, Quebec made the Capitals out of training camp last fall, and immediately showcased himself as an impact player in the league tallying 41 points in 48 games as a rookie, and scoring 17 goals. As of October 28th Lombardi has 4 goals and 9 points in 9 games, but he’s scored in 3 consecutive games and has recorded 4 goals and 6 points in that span.

“I’d like to thank the University of Vermont for giving me the opportunity to continue my hockey career and education. I’d like to also thank my parents, billet family, coaches, trainers and friends that have been part of my journey so far” said Lombardi.

Lombardi will join the Catamounts in the fall of 2023, on a team that currently features 3 former BCHLers including Dawson Good (Chilliwack), James Bouquot (Chilliwack), Xavier Henry (Chilliwack). Lombardi also joins Aaron Brown (Quinnipiac), Jackson Morehouse (Dartmouth), and Luke Strickland (Long Island) as Capitals that have secured NCAA Commitments.
