The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the signing of 2003 born forward Matteo Lamoureux for the 2023/24 season. Born in Paris, France, Lamoureux has played almost exclusively in Switzerland but is also a Canadian Citizen. This past season with Lugano U20, Lamoureux finished 2nd in team scoring, and 5th in league scoring with 34 goals and 19 assists for 53 points in 45 games. His 34 goal campaign was the second highest in the Swiss U20 League, as one of just three 30 goal scorers. In 11 playoff games, he added another 2 goals and 9 points. That followed up a rookie Swiss U20 league season in which Lamoureux totalled 28 points in 41 games.
Lamoureux is listed 6’0″ – 195lbs and will add an elite finishing ability as well as experience to the Capitals forward group for 2023/24.
