Capitals make trio of roster moves

DUNCAN, BC – The Cowichan Capitals have made a trio of roster moves ahead of the January 10th trade deadline.

The Capitals acquired 2005 born forward Darius Bachler from the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for future considerations. In 9 games with the Chiefs this season Bachler recorded 2 assists. Last season he was a member of the BCEHL’s Fraser Valley Thunderbirds and finished 4th on the team in scoring with 15 goals and 36 points in 35 games. At 17 years old Bachler is listed at 6’0″ – 190 lbs.

In a separate trade Cowichan acquired 19 year old forward Luke Eurig and future considerations from the Prince George Spruce Kings in exchange for 18 year old forward Owen Goodbrand. In 26 games this season, Eurig has 4 goals and 11 assists. Last season in the GOJHL, Eurig recorded 49 points in 47 games with the Elmira Sugar Kings, and added another 14 points in 14 playoff games.

In a third move the Capitals acquired 18 year old forward Davide Patella from the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations. Patella was the captain of the Cents, and this year has 7 goals and 14 points in 29 games. In his rookie BCHL season Patella finished with 11 goals and 23 points, he is listed at 6’2″ – 194lbs.

Eurig and Bachler will be in the lineup tonight when Cowichan hosts Victoria at 7PM!
