Capitals defenceman Will Elias commits to Holy Cross Crusaders

DUNCAN, BC – The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce that 19 year old defence man Will Elias has committed to the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders NCAA Division 1 Mens Hockey Program. Elias has recorded 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points in 17 games with the Capitals since joining the team from the USHL. He hails from Weston, Massachusetts and last year Captained the St Sebastian’s School Prep team in the United States High School Hockey League.

“I’d like to thank my parents first off for everything they’ve done for me. None of this would be possible without their endless support over the years. Id also like to thank my friends, coaches, and teammates that have helped me get to this point. I chose Holy Cross for its prestigious academics and strong athletics making it a great balance of the two. It is also very close to home which made it a much easier decision. I can’t wait to get on campus and to be a Crusader” said Elias.

The Crusaders have three former BCHLers on their 2022 roster Jack Seymour (Chilliwack), Tyler Ghirardosi (Trail), Grayson Constable (Salmon Arm).

Elias joins forwards Luke Strickland (Long Island), Massimo Lombardi (Vermont), Luke Lavery (Providence), Jackson Morehouse (Dartmouth) and defenceman Aaron Brown (Quinnipiac) as players committed to NCAA Division 1 Hockey Programs.

The Capitals are back at home this weekend Friday when they host Victoria at 7PM, visit the Grizzlies on Saturday and welcome Nanaimo to the CCC on Sunday at 2PM.
