Capitals commit to 2006 born forward Tyler Wood

The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the commitment of Tyler Wood, a 2006 born forward for the 2022/23 season. Wood, from Cornwall, Prince Edward Island joins the Capitals from the Selects Academy at South Kent School in Connecticut. Last year with the Selects Academy he lead the U15 team in scoring with team-highs of 33 goals and 46 assists for 79 points in 53 games played.

“Tyler is a dynamic skilled centre with elite hockey IQ and vision. We are very excited to have him playing with the Capitals this season, he will be a very exciting young player to watch with our team this season. Tyler will be a player that a lot of NCAA schools will be interested in. We would like to welcome Tyler to the Capitals family” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Brian Passmore.

Wood made his preseason debut September 5th at home against Victoria scoring once and skating on a line with Massimo Lombardi and Oliver Salo. Welcome to Cowichan Tyler!

Capitals preseason action continues with home games Friday September 9th vs Alberni Valley, and Saturday September 17th vs Victoria. Tickets are 5$ at the door for exhibition games. The 2022 season begins Friday September 23rd when the Capitals host the West Kelowna Warriors.
