Capitals acquire Island born Sean Ramsay from Surrey

The Capitals are excited to announce the acquisition of 2001 born Sean Ramsay from the Surrey Eagles in exchange for future considerations. Ramsay, who hails from Victoria, BC, is coming off his rookie BCHL season after graduating from the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s Midget Prep team. Last season Ramsay scored 4 goals and added 13 assists for 17 points while playing in 44 games.

“We are very excited to add Sean to our group. He is a proven BCHL player with a lot of offensive upside. We feel he is ready to take a big jump forward in his production and will add a lot to our team” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood.

While at PCHA, Ramsay tore it up in his final season, finishing with nearly a 3 points per game and more than a goal per game, as he recorded 46 goals and 50 assists for 96 points in just 35 games. He lead the team in assists, goals, and points, the latter two by wide margins, scoring 14 more goals, and 15 more points than the next highest player. He and two other teammates finished in the top 3 in league points with 96, 81, and 75 points respectively. In the 2018-19 season Ramsay also played 4 games as an affiliate with the Victoria Grizzlies.

Welcome to Cowichan Sean!
