The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the signing of 2006 born forward Kenny McIlwain to the team for the 2024/25 season. Hailing from La Canada, California, McIlwain plays for the Anaheim Jr Ducks U18 team, where he currently leads the team in scoring with 32 goals and 72 points in 47 games in U18 AAA play. The Ducks have also played 12 games as part of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League U18 Division, and in those contests, McIlwain has 12 goals and 20 points, leading the team and division in scoring.
Last year with the Pittsburgh Penguins U16 team McIlwain finished 3rd on the team in scoring with 20 goals and 45 points in 54 games, playing on the same team as one of the newest Capitals Jack Edwards. McIlwain is listed 5’11” and 174lbs and will join the team for next season.
