Duncan, BC– The Cowichan Capitals are pleased to announce the signing of 2007-born forward Raphaël Messier for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
The 5-foot-10 left winger from Sherbrooke, Quebec, joins the Capitals following an impressive 2025-26 season with the Lloydminster Bobcats of the AJHL, where he finished third on the team with 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 47 games.
Selected in the fourth round, 73rd overall, of the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft, he spent parts of two seasons with the Québec Remparts of the QMJHL, appearing in 49 games. He also gained international experience in 2025-26, representing Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge, where he helped the team capture a silver medal.
With experience at both the major junior and Junior A levels, Messier brings another proven offensive option to the Capitals’ forward group as the organization continues to build its roster for the 2026-27 season.
