NCAA COMMITMENT: TYRELL BOUCHER COMMITS TO ALASKA-ANCHORAGE!

The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce that 20 year old defensemen Tyrell Boucher has committed to University of Alaska Anchorage’s NCAA Division 1 Hockey Program for the 2020/21 season. Boucher is in his final season of junior and his first year as a Capital. Cowichan acquired Tyrell from the AJHL’s Grande Prairie Storm in exchange for Doug Scott and Spencer Hora during the offseason near the end of July. So far this season, Boucher has 1 goal and 15 assists for 16 points. That total ties him for the team lead in defensemen points and is the 4th most in the BCHL amoung blue liners. In his previous 2 seasons with the Storm he totalled 55 points in 103 games.

The Alaska Anchorage Seawolves play in the NCAA’s Division 1 Western Collegiate Hockey Association along with the likes of Alaska Fairbanks, Bowling Green, Lake Superior, Michigan State and Minnesota-Mankato. This year there are 9 former BCHL’s on the roster.

The Capitals now have 6 NCAA Committed players on the team including Boucher, Nolan Barrett, Matt Crasa, Primo Self, Will Arquiett, and Dimitri Mikrogiannakis.
