Hometown Hockey Events

It’s Hometown Hockey Weekend!  Many events are planned at the Island Savings Centre!

Game Day Events – Saturday, January 20, 2018

Join your Cowichan Capitals in the library at 10 AM for the BCHL’s Score With Reading event while the team reads to little kids. The team will then head over to the Multi Purpose Hall (Gym) to play floor hockey with the kids!  They will also be signing autographs with the kids during this event.

Lots of events going on outside in the parking lot starting at 11:40 with the Opening Ceremony. Check out the main stage, outdoor ball hockey, autographs with NHL Alumni and more!  Details can be found here.

After taking in the days events, join us at the Stick when we take on the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, brought to you by Red Arrow BreweryDoors open at 6pm and puck drop at 7pm.  There will be a ceremonial puck drop by Hometown Hockey’s Tara Slone with mascots Hometown Hank and the Capitals own Ivan Beeken’off!  There will be Catering in the Heritage Hall for fans by Just Jake’s, full team autographs after the game, World’s Oldest Hockey Card Collection on display (Courtesy of D.M.A.N. Capital), Live performance by the Reid Williams Band and the DDT Senior Drumline will perform during the first intermission.  The Thunderbird Motor Inn Hotseat is now sitting at $150!

NOTE:  Get there early if you want a seat – tickets are 95% sold out to maximum capacity (although tickets are selling fast!)  As always, Season Ticket Holders are guaranteed their seats.

Due to the Hometown Hockey Festival, the Island Savings Centre parking lot will be closed for the game.  Please use the overflow parking North of the rink (grassy area), in front of the Library or across James Street at the Cowichan Secondary School.
