Caps This Week, Jan 10-16

It’s a busy week for the Capitals as they return back from their 5 day pause. The boys have returned back to the rink and are eager to get back at it. 6 points are on the line this week as your Capitals look to begin climbing the standings.

Tuesday, January 11th: The Caps welcome the Alberni Valley Bulldogs to the big stick for a rare Tuesday night game. The Caps have split the last two meetings with the Bulldogs, with both being tightly contested. In their last meeting in Duncan, the Bulldogs were able to skate away with a 2-0 victory. Both netminders were spectacular (Bidewell for Cowichan, Dunford for Alberni). Puck drop for this one is scheduled for 7pm.

Saturday, January 15th: The Caps travel up island to finish the home & home with the Bulldogs. In their last visit to Weyerhauser Arena, the Caps played solid road game and were able to weather a late push by the Bulldogs, leaving town with a 3-2 victory. They will be looking for more of the same this time around. Puck drop is set for 7pm

Sunday, January 16th: The Langley Rivermen visit the Big Stick for the 2nd time this season. The Rivermen left town with a 4-2 victory last visit to Duncan (November 26th). Tickling the twine won”t come easy for the Capitals, as the Rivermen come into this one with the fewest goals against in the Coastal Conference. Netminders Kaine & Gundarah are both having dominant seasons and they both rank near the top for most goaltender categories, including sitting 1 & 2 in Save Percentage. Puck drop for this one is 2pm.

Tickets are still available for both home games. Tickets from our cancelled games against Prince George and Cranbrook will be accepted during our Tuesday night game. Tickets from our previously scheduled date with Langley (Jan 6) will be honoured for admission into the Sunday game. All P.H.O guidelines will be enforced.
