Capitals sign Alberta League scorer Matthew Swanson for 2023

DUNCAN, BC – The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the club has signed 20 year old forward Matthew Swanson for the 2023/24 season. Swanson, who has spent the last two-plus seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Lloydminster Bobcats, joins the Capitals coming off a 24 goal season. In 122 AJHL games, Swanson has 47 goals and 90 points.

Hailing from Czar, Alberta, Swanson played in Lloydminster since all the way back in 2016 with the Heat U15 program. He is listed at 6’1″ – 205lbs. His goal scoring totals of 23 and 24 finished 2nd on the team in goal scoring in each of the last two seasons.

Welcome to Cowichan Matthew!
