CAPITALS HOME OPENER THIS SATURDAY VS VICTORIA

Well Caps fans, opening week is officially here. The Capitals have wrapped up the pre-season and now have their sights set on an opening weekend back-to-back against a pair of Island Division foes. The Capitals finished the exhibition schedule with a 3-1 record after splitting the pair of games against Victoria  this past weekend. On Friday Cowichan fell 3-2 with power play goals coming from Cole Broadhurst and Will Arquiett. Saturday in Sooke, Cowichan bounced back with a 5-2 victory, once again getting power play goals from both Broadhurst and Arquiett in the first period. The Caps also got a pair of goals from 19 year old Andy Bridgewater and a single from Josh Kagan in the win, while Zach Borgiel picked up the win in goal. 6 different Capitals scored more than a goal in the 4 exhibition games, lead by Dan McIntyre’s 4. His line mate in Bridegwater was 2nd with 3, while Arquiett, Broadhurst, Kagan and Cruz Cote all had a pair of goals in preseason action.

The Capitals open the season on the road in Nanaimo on Friday night at Frank Crane Arena at 7:00, before hosting their home opener presented by Kal Tire Duncan, on Saturday night at 6:00 PM at the Cowichan Community Centre Arena.  Come meet your 2019/20 Cowichan Capitals as they take on the Victoria Grizzlies, doors open at 5:00PM! Adult tickets are $14, seniors and students are $11 and kids are $7.
