The Capitals are excited to announce the commitment of 2002 born defenceman Zachary Brault for the 2021-2022 season. The 18 year old had 6 goals 15 assists for 21 points in 32 games, 8th on the team in points.
“Zach is an extremely strong skater with a high hockey IQ. He knows the game well and for a very skilled player is willing to put the hard work in to become a well-rounded d-man that can play in all scenarios. Zach has been a crucial piece of the puzzle over the past two seasons for the Shawnigan U18 Prep team. He was fortunate enough to be a school student leader (prefect) and an assistant captain of the hockey team. His leadership qualities will translate nicely to the BCHL level and hopefully continue to develop within our core group of players. Shawnigan Lake School is a top program in Canada and Zach is another superb young man from this hockey program that will flourish with the Caps” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Brian Passmore.
Brault will join a former teammate in Owen Evers, who is a member of the Capitals during the pod season, as well as fellow 2021 commitment Maguire Ratzlaff on the Capitals next season.
