Capitals acquire 20 year old defenceman Jakob Karpa from Wenatchee

The Cowichan Capitals are excited to announce the acquisition of 2002 born defenceman Jakob Karpa from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for future considerations. Karpa hails from Newport Beach, California and joined the Wild for the 2021/22 BCHL season after playing in the North American Hockey League which got a full season in during 2020 play. Last season Karpa played in 38 games during the regular season, scoring 3 goals and finishing with 11 points. In the first round series against Salmon Arm Karpa recorded 3 points, all of them assists.

“We are happy to acquire Jakob as a solid reliable 20 year old. Jakob is a nice skating right shot defencemen, he plays a simple and smart game and makes a good first pass. Jakob can play in all situations and provide leadership to our team. We feel Jakob makes our team better” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Brian Passmore.

In the 2020/21 season Karpa played 29 games with the Chipewa Steel. Welcome to Cowichan Jakob!
