Capitals acquire 18 year old Union commit Nathan Morgan for Dan McIntyre

The Cowichan Capitals have acquired 2002 born forward Nathan Morgan from the Grande Prairie Storm in exchange for 2000 born forward Dan McIntyre. Morgan, a Calgary, Alberta product scored 12 goals and added 15 assists for 27 points in 54 games last season, and committed to Union College last year as well. McIntyre meanwhile finished with 21 points, 8 of them goals, and will attend Cornell next season.

“Dan was a great player for this team for two seasons, and expressed interest in playing elsewhere in his final season of junior hockey. We were able to come to a deal with Grande Prairie, and we wish Dan all the best this season and in the future. We’re excited about bringing in a player like Nathan (Morgan), who’s already played two full seasons of junior and is only entering his 18 year old season” said Capitals interim Head Coach and General Manager Brian Passmore.

Morgan played with the Storm in his 16 year old season as well, accumulating 16 points in 51 games his rookie season. Prior to that, Morgan played for the Northern Alberta X-treme Elite 15’s team where he finished 4th in team scoring wit 29 goals and 26 assists for 55 points in 33 games. The Capitals thank Dan for representing the Capitals and the Cowichan Valley so well over the past two seasons, and wish him nothing but the best in Grande Prairie.

Welcome to Cowichan Nathan!
