Capitals acquire 18 year old defenceman Elliott, futures from Prince George

The Cowichan Capitals have acquired 18 year defenceman Connor Elliott and future considerations from the Prince George Spruce Kings in exchange for 19 year old defenceman Nick Marciano. Elliott is in his second season with the Spruce Kings having played 19 of the 20 games in last years pod in Chilliwack, recording 1 goal and 7 points as a member of the pod-winning Prince George team. This season he has played in 16 games with Prince George and recorded one assist.

“We would like to welcome Connor to the Capitals. Connor is a mature player, good sized, physical defensemen that moves well. We look for Connor to further develop his game in all areas and get more opportunities with us right away. In the long run this move has many positives for our club, we get a tough young defenseman that wants to be a Capital, work hard and help the team get better. We get a younger defenseman that plays the right way. Connor also gained good experience playing in the BCHL pod season last year, he has good upside and we are excited to bring him into our dressing room and get him in a Capitals uniform. Nick Marciano had asked to be traded, Nick played a lot of minutes for us and provided good offence from the backend.”

Marciano has played 21 games with Cowichan and is committed to Princeton University after graduating from junior hockey.

The Capitals wish Nick the best of luck in PG and welcome Connor to the Valley!
