Capitals 2023 Trade Deadline Recap

The 2023 trade deadline has passed, and the Cowichan Capitals made a number of moves.

Strickland to Wellington (OJHL)

The Cowichan Capitals have traded 2002 born forward Luke Strickland to the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL in exchange for future considerations. Strickland was acquired from the CCHL’s Stouffville Spirit in the offseason by the Capitals, and is committed to Long Island University for next season.

 

 

Capitals acquire three from Brooks (AJHL)

Earlier today the Capitals acquired 3 players in a trade with the AJHL’s Brooks Bandits. Cowichan recieved forwards Ethan DeKay (2004), Quinn Disher (2003) and defenceman Ethan O’Halloran (2003) in exchange for Davide Patella (2004). The full release can be found here

 

Last weeks moves

The Capitals acquired Patella, who they later sent to Brooks, as well as forwards Luke Eurig (2003) from Prince George and Darius Bachler (2005) from Chilliwack. The details can be found here

The Capitals welcome Quinn, and both Ethan’s as well as last weeks acquisitions to the team and wish Luke, Drew, and Davide the best of luck with their new teams.

The Capitals play the next 5 games on the road including this Friday in Vernon and Saturday in Penticton. Cowichan will return to the Big Stick Friday February 3rd when they host the Nanaimo Clippers.
