Quinnipiac junior Ben Nelson (Spokane, Wash.) was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the ECAC Hockey office on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. Nelson had two solid back-to-back wins as the Bobcats won both games at Robert Morris on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8.
Nelson totalled two goals and two assists for the weekend against Robert Morris. On Friday, in a 4-2 win, Nelson had a goal and an assist while also netting one and assisting on another against RMU on Saturday in a 5-1 win. Both of Nelson's goals came on the power play. For his efforts, Nelson was named the second star in Friday's game and the third star in Saturday's game. Nelson currently leads the Bobcats in goals (8) and points (16).
Quinnipiac returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 29 when they face Western Michigan as part of the Sheraton/TD Banknorth Catamount Cup hosted by University of Vermont.
