Head Coach and Instructor Dale Purinton

Dale is the Head Coach for the Cowichan Valley Capitals; he brings an enthusiastic and disciplined approach to the game, and believes success comes from conditioning and a “Team” first attitude.
Dale was selected in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft and has played in 181 NHL games; he also played for their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, and the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers. Dale also played for a trio of WHL teams, including a two-year stop in Lethbridge where he helped the Hurricanes reach the 1997 Memorial Cup final. Dale signed with the Colorado Avalanche in 2007 and joined the Lake Erie Monsters for a stint in the AHL, 2 years later Dale decided to hang up the skates to focus on family life as a husband and a father to his three young boys. Dale is a coach that works hard to develop players to make them their best player through rigorous on ice and off ice programs that are both challenging and fun.
